SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Washington State Women's Tennis captured the opening doubles point but could not capitalize in singles play as the Cougars were defeated by San Diego, 4-1, Saturday morning at the Arnhold Tennis Center.
The Cougars (4-4) opened the day by winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles over San Diego (5-1) to take the opening point. At No 1, WSU's Michaela Bayerlova and Maxine Murphy came away with a 6-4 win over Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith while Savanna Ly-Nguyen and Elyse Tse escaped with a 6-4 win at No.
