Washington State’s Samoan pipeline was fortified on Wednesday when Tafuna High (Pago Pago, American Samoa) offensive lineman Frederick Mauigoa signed with the Cougars over Oregon State.
Mauigoa (6-foot-4, 295-pounds) had offers from WSU, Oregon State, UNLV and Hawaii, but had whittled his list down to Oregon State and WSU after visiting both schools in January.
He’s one of five offensive lineman recruits who signed with the Cougars on National Signing Day.
Others who were on the fence:
– DL Wayne Kirby ended up signing with Oregon. WSU and Utah were finalists for his commitment.
– ATH Tayler Hawkins signed with San Diego State over WSU.
