RALEIGH, N.C. – The Washington State women's rowing team picked up a pair of second-place finishes on the first day of the 2023 Lake Wheeler Invitational to highlight the first day of races for the Cougars in the Tar Heel State.
WSU's 2nd varsity eight boat collected both second-place finishes on the first day of the regatta. The Cougars' 2V8+ crew clocked in at 6:32.858 in the morning to finish second to Duke (7:17.157), while defeating Alabama (6:35.612), Clemson (6:41.30), Boston College (6:48.664) and North Carolina (6:50.010). The 2V8+ crew came back out on Lake Wheeler in the afternoon and again took second, this time posting a time of 7:03.
