COLTON, Wash. – The No. 20 Washington State rowing team won five of its six races against Gonzaga and captured the Fawley Cup to cap off WSU's lone home regatta of the season Saturday, April 30.
The First Varsity Eight won the Fawley Cup, a trophy given to the winner of the 1V8+ race between WSU and GU, race by 6.1 seconds. The Cougars clocked in at 7:11.30 to claim the Fawley Cup for the 27th time in the 30-year history of the race.
In its first regatta at Wawawai Landing since May 1, 2021, the WSU rowing team won five of the six races against GU.
