VICTORIA, British Columbia – Washington State rowing rising-senior, Nicole Hare, and former Cougar rower, Lisa Roman, have been chosen to represent Canada at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games from August 5-21, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) announced Tuesday. Just 12 open weight women were chosen to compete in a total of three events; single sculls, pair and eight.
“What a great day for the Cougs,” WSU head rowing coach, Jane LaRiviere, who coached both Hare and Roman three years each at Washington State, said. “To have two Cougars make Canada’s Olympic rowing team is just outstanding.
