DAVIS, Calif. (April 11, 2025) – Junior Sam Renner shot a 1-under, 71, to lead Washington State Men's Golf during the first day of play Friday at the 2025 El Macero Classic, played at the par 72, 7,127-yard El Macero Country Club.
As a team, the Cougars shot a 9-over, 297 over the first 18 holes and finished the day tied for 12th overall. UC San Diego leads the field at 7-under, 281, one shot ahead of San Diego and two shots in front of Pacific and Saint Mary's.
Renner was solid throughout his first 18 holes, collecting four birdies, three bogeys and 11 pars.
