Ranking WSU’s non-conference schedule

Compared to some seasons, Washington State’s 2017 non-conference football schedule is actually fairly notable. The trio of Montana State, Nevada and Boise State are a better mix of FCS to headline opponent than other seasons.

Nationally, however, the schedule is still very underwhelming. At least according to Berry Tramel of NewsOK.com. Tramel ranked all the non-conference schedules of the 54 Power-5 teams.

WSU checked in at No. 53.

That’s actually very tame criticism compared to some other Pac-12 teams, especially Washington.

61. Washington: at Rutgers, Montana, Fresno State. This is a little embarrassing for a traditional program in a major market coming off a great season.
