PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State high jumper Thane Pierson has been named to the 2015-16 All-Academic District 8 Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field Team presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Pierson, a senior from Naches, Wash., is a Communication and Society major and has a 3.88 cumulative grade point average. He won the Pac-12 men’s high jump championship May 15 in Seattle and will be competing this weekend at the NCAA West Region Preliminary Rounds in Lawrence, Kansas. This season Pierson high jumped a lifetime-best height of 7-feet, 3 inches (2.21m) which is seventh-best in WSU’s all-time records and is tied for fifth-best height in the West Region.
