PULLMAN, Wash. – Sophmore Donika Bashota knocked off the No. 78-ranked player in the nation, but the No. 19 Stanford Cardinal went on to win 5-2 over No. 57 Washington State on Senior Day, Saturday morning at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Cougars fall to 17-8, 2-7 in Pac-12 play, while the Cardinal improve to 12-5, 7-1 in Pac-12 action.
After defeating California’s Klara Fabikova, the nation’s No. 12-ranked player, on Friday, Bashota produced another impressive effort upsetting Stanford’s Caroline Doyle, ranked No.78 in the nation. Bashota fell in a close first-set, 7-5, but bounced back to take the second, 6-3.
