The Washington State Cougars soccer team started its year off with a bang on Thursday, drubbing the Seattle Redhawks 4-0 on the road.
The performance by the No. 15 Cougars was so dominant that they had more goals than the Redhawks even had shots (three) — and only one Seattle U. shot even found its way on target.
Four different Cougs scored, including Morgan Weaver’s 29th of her career on a penalty kick, but it was Elyse Bennett who led the way. Bennett returned from a season-ending injury in 2018 to score a goal and also nab an assist.
