Pullman, Wash. – No. 13 Washington State rowing swept Oregon State in all five races en route to its seventh-consecutive Winchell Cup, and the varsity eight won its second-consecutive Crawford Perpetual Plate, with calm waters, Saturday at Wawawai Landing on the Snake River.
The Cougars and Beavers meet each spring to compete for the Crawford Perpetual Plate and the Winchell Cup. The Crawford Perpetual Plate is named after Washington State’s first rowing coach Tammy Crawford, and has been awarded to the winner of the varsity eight race since 2003. The Winchell Cup is named after 11-year novice coach Jodi Winchell, and is awarded to the team with the most points on the day.
