The 2015 MLB Draft started on Monday and through the first 23 rounds of the draft five Cougar baseball players have heard their names called.
The first Cougar off the board was Sam Triece selected in the 10th round on Tuesday by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Triece, a senior right-hander from Edmonds, Wash., was taken at the No. 298 overall pick. Triece made most of his appearances out of the bullpen, posting a 2.66 ERA in 50 2/3 innings. Additionally, he struck out 59 and held opponents to a .222 batting average against. Triece lead the team with 31 appearances and had three starts this season as well.
