Max Borghi named to Doak Walker watch list

After a terrific freshman season alternating carries with running back James Williams, Max Borghi is primed for a breakout sophomore season. The folks in charge of awarding the Doak Walker trophy (given to the nation’s top running back) appear to agree. Yesterday Borghi was named to the award pre-season watch list. This is a just a preliminary list of the running backs to watch for next season across the country and 8 other running backs from the Pac-12 joined Borghi. The last Cougar to make this group was Jamal Morrow in 2017.

Borghi put up 740 all-purpose yards and scored 12 touchdowns as a true freshman.
