Marty Lees has been named the new head baseball coach at WSU, the athletic department announced today. Lees is the 15th coach in WSU history and only the 7th since 1927. He takes over for Donnie Marbut, who was fired last week after 11 seasons.
Lees comes from Oklahoma State University were he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He also spent 11 years at Oregon State where he helped to build the powerhouse Beaver programs in the mid-2000's.
"I'm honored and privileged to be the next head baseball coach at Washington State University," said Lees, who was part of 128 victories in his three seasons with Oklahoma State, via athletic department news release.
