Seattle finishes the draft taking 25 pitchers
Three days and 40 selections later, Mariners’ director of amateur of scouting Tom McNamara can finally exhale for a few hours before beginning to think about the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.
As all scouting directors, he was pleased with his draft class. The Mariners came into the 2015 draft without a first-round choice, which changed their draft plan and preparation.
“It’s hard to explain it, but our goal this year was to see as many players as possible instead of sitting on three or four top guys and watching multiple times,” McNamara said.
