Robinson Cano is back in the starting lineup after being out with a mild abdominal strain.
“I’m sure he could play the field,” manager Lloyd McClendon said. “It doesn’t hurt him to play the field. His biggest challenge is running.”
Cano took batting practice before yesterday’s game and felt fine. He was out before batting practice doing some running drills with trainer Rick Griffin to see how he felt.
“The idea was to give him two or three days off, DH him for a couple of days and then get back on the field in Colorado,” McClendon said.
