Washington State freshman soccer player, Liya Brooks, has been called up to play for Jamaica at the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, July 20 – August 19.
Brooks comes to Washington State after an impressive junior career, representing Jamaica at the U-17 and U-20 levels, before her recent senior call up. Brooks was born in New Jersey, then relocated to Hawaii when she was ten years old, before finally residing in Eugene, Oregon where she graduated high school.
Brooks started having conversations with Jamaican National Teams end of 2021, securing a spot in her first camp January 2022, playing with the youth team until a couple months ago.
