PROVO, Utah – Washington State’s Lize Leenknecht and Donika Bashota captured the doubles title Friday during the second day of play at the 2015 BYU Invitational.
Leenknecht and Bashota began the day defeating Boise State’s Megan LaLone and Bobbi Oshiro, 6-1. The WSU pair continued its dominance taking the doubles final by a score of 6-2 over BYU’s Toby Miclat and Taylah Beckman. The duo has posted a 7-0 doubles record to begin the fall season.
In singles play, the Cougars placed three in the semifinal round. Bashota started the day defeating BYU’s Taylah Beckman, 6-1, 6-2 and advanced to the finals by defeating teammate Maria Biryukova, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
