BERKELEY, Calif. – Washington State suffered a 7-2 defeat after California scored six runs in the seventh inning at Evans Diamond Saturday evening.
WSU (14-10, 1-4 Pac-12) took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning before California (11-13, 3-5 Pac-12) scored once in the sixth and six in the seventh to take the second game of the series. In the seventh, the Bears took advantage of two walks, two hit by pitches and three hits in the inning to take the lead.
The Cougars received a solid starting pitching performance from junior who struck out three, allowed two earned runs on five hits in six innings.
