SEATTLE – The Washington State women's soccer team (2-1-1) defeated Seattle University, 2-1, at Championship Field Thursday night. With just 45 seconds to play in the match, senior served a corner kick into the penalty area. Fifth-year senior tapped the ball back across the goal mouth where junior pounced on the loose ball and scored the game-winning goal for the win.
The opening goal came 20 minutes into the contest when junior found space down the right side and played a low, driving ball across the 6-yard box. Senior cut across the penalty area to meet the ball and slotted the opening-goal into the near post, giving WSU a 1-0 lead and Lynch's first goal of the season.
