The NFL dream isn’t over just yet for former WSU running back James Williams. The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that they have signed the former Cougar standout to a free agent contract, giving him another chance to make an NFL roster this fall.
Williams left Washington State last season after racking up 1,173 all purpose yards and helping WSU to 11 wins. He wound up going undrafted, but caught on with the Kansas City Chiefs, who gave the Burbank native a free agent deal. But the team cut Williams in June.
Williams gets another shot in Indianapolis, but it won’t be easy.
