Our long, long wait for the Washington State Cougars to again take the field is finally going to come to an end tonight when they host the New Mexico State Aggies in the 2019 opener at Martin Stadium.
The game is expected to be a blowout: The Cougars are 31-point favorites. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be moments of intrigue.
All eyes will be on WSU’s new starting quarterback, Anthony Gordon, who won a three-way battle for the job in fall camp over fellow redshirt senior Trey Tinsley and the man who many assumed would be the choice — Eastern Washington grad transfer Gage Gubrud.
