While the Washington State baseball team has struggled as of late, it doesn’t take away from the fact that the Cougars are one of the most winningest teams in college baseball. The Buck Bailey and Chuck “Bobo” Brayton era that lasted a total of 65 years gave the Cougars 1,165 wins. Due to their success, Baseball America ranked the Cougars baseball program as the 12th winningest program in all of college baseball.
The Cougars have tallied 2,719 wins in their 123 seasons under 15 different coaches. They have had just one head coach with a winning record since Brayton retired in 1994 with Donnie Marbut who coached for the Cougars from 2005-2015.
