The battle for the starting quarterback position at Washington State has been apparently cut down to two. For the second straight day Anthony Gordon and Gage Gubrud have been the two guys taking snaps during 1-on-1 battles and team periods.
Mike Leach said that he wanted to cut the battle down to two sooner than he did last year and also said that it would be ideal to name a starting quarterback two weeks before the season opener - which is Saturday. All throughout their time in Lewiston, Trey Tinsley was the third man in the rotation and that ended Tuesday.
