After being the runner-up behind Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield for the past two years, Luke Falk finally got his time at the podium on Monday when it was announced he had won the 2017 Burlsworth trophy. The award is given out yearly to college football’s best former walk-on player. Falk finished ahead of Mayfield, Memphis receiver Anthony Miller, and Troy Fumagalli who is the tight end at Wisconsin.
With the bowl game still remaining for the Cougars, Falk has thrown for 3,593 yards and 30 touchdowns while throwing 13 interceptions this season.
