Washington State middle blocker Jocelyn Urias was named Pac-12 Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead her Cougs to a weekend sweep over #14 USC and #20 UCLA. This is the first career player of the week award for the 6’3” Junior from Tijuana, Mexico and the first for a Cougar since October 3, 2016.
On Friday, the Cougars (15-5) hosted the Trojans (15-6) and pulled out a five-set victory after finishing the fifth set 18-16 to come away victorious. Urias finished Friday nights game with 13 kills and 5 digs to help kick off a great weekend for Washington State Athletics.
