Washington State basketball Head Coach Kyle Smith announced Monday that assistant coach Jim Shaw has been elevated to Associate Head Coach. The Washington native has been a coach in college basketball since 1986.
Shaw has helped coach the Cougars to a 30-29 record over the past two seasons including last season in which they finished with a +.500 record for the first time since 2011-12 and beat five schools that would go on to play in the NCAA Tournament. They also notched their highest adjusted defense rating since 2009 with a rating of 91.3 per 100 possessions.
