Former Eastern Washington quarterback Gage Gubrud was apparently denied a sixth season of eligibility on Monday according to an article by the Spokesman Review. It was announced last week that he had chosen to play next season for the Cougars over Utah as a graduate transfer if he could get approval on an extra year from the NCAA.
After going down with an injury in the fifth game of last season, Gubrud sat out for the Eagles final 10 games. In a season they played in 15 games it would mean that he did play in one-third or less of his teams games - the requirement for a Medical Redshirt.
