The Washington State Cougars women’s basketball team is off to a hot start this year thanks to the help of Charlisse Leger-Walker who was named Pac-12 Women’s freshman of the week on Monday. The Cougars are coming off two rivalry wins after beating Washington this past Friday and Idaho on Sunday. The guard from Waikato, New Zealand has put up 49 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 blocks and 7 steals in just two games.
On Friday, in their season opener against Washington, Leger-Walker put up 20 points, 4 steals, 3 blocks, 3 assists, and 8 rebounds to help lead the Cougs to a 60-52 victory at Hec Ed in Seattle.
