Washington State Point Guard Chanelle Molina helped lead team USA to the gold medal in the inaugural FISU America Games last week in Brazil. The 5’9” junior from Hawaii represented her country for the first time last week and had the opportunity to bring home the gold medal.
During the week, team USA took down Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, and Brazil by an average of 43.8 points per game including a 116-33 victory over Uruguay. Team USA did not find much competition in the four-game tournament until the gold medal game against Brazil when they came out with a 59-42 victory on July 28th.
