The Washington State offense was in control last night at Utah Valley. The Cougar bats 6 runs in the 2nd inning, 4 runs in the 4th inning and 2 more in the 6th to take a 13-5 lead.
Unfortunately, the WSU defense and bullpen weren’t on the same level. They allowed 15 runs in 3 frames in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings on the way to a bad 20-13 loss in Utah.
Washington State actually trailed 3-1 entering the 2nd inning when the bats warmed up. Andres Alvarez, Dillon Plew, Jack Smith and Collin Montez all delivered 2-out RBI hits in the 6 run inning.
