Handcuffed man steals King County sheriff’s vehicle

The King County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the man who, while handcuffed, stole a patrol SUV in Snoqualmie early Saturday.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Stan Seo said someone called 911 about a suspicious car and person at Southeast Reinig Road and Southeast 79th Street around 8:30 a.m. Deputies found a man in a car who had arrest warrants out for vandalism, drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.

The deputies handcuffed the man, to take him into custody, but he got away and drove off in a deputy’s patrol SUV.

“He was in the process of being arrested and somehow he got loose and took the patrol vehicle,” Seo said.
