PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University senior golfer Darcy Habgood begins her run Monday at the 121st U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, set for Aug. 2-8 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.
Habgood, from Nambucca Heads, Australia, was one of five qualifiers for the U.S. Amateur coming from the 50-player field July 13 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. Habgood was solid throughout her qualifying round, firing two birdies en route to a 1-over 74 to secure her first trip to one of the nation's premier amateur events.
Habgood is the first Cougar to qualify for the event since teammate Emily Baumgart did so in 2019.
