Every year, the Pac-12 awards the Tom Hansen Conference Medal to one male and one female from each of their member schools. The honor goes to outstanding seniors based on “the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.”
The medal is named after the former commissioner of the Pac-10 who retired at the end of the 2009 school year. This year, the pair of honorees for the Cougs seemed to be pretty obvious... And the conference made the decision we all would have expected. The male recipient was quarterback Gardner Minshew, while the female honor went to volleyball star Taylor Mims.
