Washington State middle linebacker Peyton Pelluer is out for the season after fracturing his foot during the first half of the Cougars’ game against Oregon State, the Lewiston Tribune reported.
Pelluer’s father Scott told the Tribune his son would undergo surgery within two weeks and face five to six months of rehabilitation.
During his weekly news conference on Monday, WSU coach Mike Leach declined to say several times whether Pelluer was injured. He threatened to throw out reporters if they asked again.
Pelluer, a senior who’s started in 34 consecutive games for the Cougars, left for the locker room during the first half of Saturday’s Pac-12 opener and never returned to the field.
