A former Everett firefighter who arranged to pay for sex with a 15-year-old girl was sentenced Friday to eight months in jail.
David “Pete” Vier, 60, pleaded guilty last month to communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution. He faced up to a year behind bars, but prosecutors had recommended eight years.
Vier, of Arlington, was arrested in November after he showed up at a Seattle fast-food restaurant intending to pay a juvenile girl $150 for sex, according to the charges.
A detective with the Seattle Police Department’s Vice & High Risk Victims Unit had posted an online ad the previous week that offered paid sex with a minor.
