PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State track and field freshman hurdler Micaela De Mello broke the program outdoor 100m hurdle time, as she won the event at the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Arizona in 13.08 seconds to win the event. It is the fastest 100m hurdle time in NCAA Division I this season, while it is the fourth-best time worldwide this year.
De Mello broke Diana Pickler's record for the fastest 100m hurdle time in program history. Pickler completed the event in 13.25 seconds back in 2007 in Sacramento.
Washington State spilt up the team during the first week of outdoor competition, sending student-athletes to the Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe and the Sam Adams Classic in Spokane, Washington.
