EUGENE, Ore. — A pair of Washington State men's track and field alumni finished top five in their respective events Saturday, the third day of the 2023 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Brock Eager placed fourth in the men's hammer with a 74.28m/ 248' 11" throw and CJ Allen continued his breakout season with a 48.51 to pace the first of two men's 400m semifinals Saturday night.
Allen will compete in the 400m hurdles finals back at Hayward Field tomorrow night starting at 6:42 p.m. on Peacock.
Jared McAlvey, runner-up in the Pac-12 in the 400m hurdles for the Cougars this season, made his USA Championships debut with a sixth-place finish in the second first-round heat on Friday night.
