In Case You Missed It
STANFORD, Calif. – Taking on the four-time defending Pac-12 champions, #14 Washington State (8-2-0, 1-1-0) suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of #2 Stanford (9-1-0, 2-0-0) Thursday night in Stanford. Two goals in a matter of :30 seconds broke open the game for the Cardinal as Stanford bracketed the halftime break to turn a one-goal game on its head on a chilly night in Stanford. After missing out on a trio of early opportunities in the opening minutes of the contest, the Cougs fell behind midway through the opening half when the Cardinal turned WSU's aggression against them with a well-timed counter up the middle by Sophie Smith.
