Good morning Coug fans. It’s Mom’s Weekend in Pullman, and that means there might be a small crowd at today’s scrimmage.
I recall being a student covering a spring scrimmage once during Mom’s Weekend. There were maybe 400 people in the stands watching, which was a good crowd for a mid-spring scrimmage.
One of the Lesuma brothers—I can’t remember if it was Vaughn or Reed—mentioned after the scrimmage that it was the biggest crowd he’d ever played in front of. They played high school football in Fiji and were both junior college transfers. I don’t imagine high school football was a must-see in Fiji, and I hate to imagine what his crowds were like in the JC games.
