SEATTLE -- Washington State sprinter Bria’una Watley broke a 28-year old meet record but the University of Washington captured the men’s and women’s team titles in the dual meet Saturday at Husky Track in Seattle. Team scores were UW women 99, WSU 64, and on the men’s side UW 113, WSU 50.
“I was disappointed in the team scores,” WSU Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Wayne Phipps said. “I knew going in it was going to be a difficult challenge on the men’s side as we were missing so many key guys. We did have some great performances highlighted by Candice’s hurdles win and Bria’una’s amazing run in the 200 meters.
