The 94-68 Yankees won the AL East and claimed the first seed in the American League. In his second year with the Yankees, Hamilton pitched in 35 games, while keeping a 3.82 ERA. In his 37.2 innings pitched, he recorded 41 strikeouts and only 14 walks. In those 35 games, Hamilton pitched 11 holds and a save while only allowing 16 earned runs. Hamilton's save of the season came against the Seattle Mariners on September 18th in which he pitched a two-strikeout bottom of the 10th leading the Yankees to an extra-inning victory.
