PULLMAN, Wash. – Forty minutes wasn't enough to decide a winner in game one of this weekend's Boeing Apple Cup Series, as the Washington State women's basketball team erased a nine-point deficit against the Washington in the fourth quarter to force an extra stanza and captured a 60-56 overtime win in Beasley Coliseum over the rival Huskies.
Senior Ula Motuga sank a game-tying 3-pointer at the top of the key with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 50-50 all. WSU's defense held strong in the closing seconds of regulation, as UW missed a layup in the paint with a second left on the clock.
