PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State tennis team opened its doubleheader with a 7-0 victory over Montana, Saturday at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
The day began with doubles play as the Cougars came away with two victories to clinch the opening point. At No. 2, the WSU duo of Donika Bashota and Victoria Matejevic easily defeated Hannah Sulz and Cam Kincaid, 6-1. At No. 3, Barbora Michalkova and Aneta Miksovska came away with a dominant 6-2 win over Lidia Dukic and Cat Orfanos, earning the 1-0 lead. At No. 1, Maria Biryukova and Trang Huynh were knotted at 5-5 with Francis Dean and Haley Driver when the match was stopped.
