CORVALLIS, Ore. -Down by 13 at halftime, Washington State (6-7, 1-1) mounted a furious second half rally against No. 11 ranked Oregon State (11-2, 1-0) to put a scare into the Beavers on the road in Corvallis, Ore. only to come up just short of the upset, 76-69, Friday night at Gill Coliseum. Despite a rough go of it in the second half, the Cougars came out blazing in right out of the lockerroom, scoring the first seven points of the new half to cut the deficit in half just minutes in.
