ST. GEORGE, Utah (Feb. 16, 2024) – Washington State collected 18 hits including three home runs in a 12-6 season-opening win at Utah Tech Friday.
WSU broke a 5-5 tie with a three-run fourth inning and pulled away with a four-run sixth inning to notch their fifth straight season-opening win and the first victory for head coach in his Cougar debut.
Four Cougars posted three-hit games led by junior third baseman who had three hits, homered, drove in five runs and was a single short of the cycle while senior catcher and junior designated hitter each homered.
