PULLMAN, Wash. – With just over two minutes to play at Lower Soccer Field, Friday night, Washington State women’s soccer junior Cara Wegner chipped the Oklahoma State keeper to give the Cougars (5-0-0) a 2-1 victory over the Cowgirls (2-4-0).
Wegner’s goal came as a result of an opportunity for senior Kourtney Guetlein, who took a shot from the top of the penalty area. Oklahoma State goalkeeper, Michela Ongaro, saved the shot, but could not maintain control of the ball. Wegner charged in for the rebound and poked it past Ongaro from three yards out, notching her second goal of the season.
