SALT LAKE CITY – Washington State broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the eighth inning and posted an 8-4 win over Utah in the series-finale at Smith's Ballpark Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars received a solid outing from freshman righthander who worked into the sixth, allowed two runs, scattered six hits and struck out four but received a no-decision. WSU received three-hit games from and while Sinatro provided a two-run double in the eighth. Freshman reliever earned the win with 2.1 innings of work and closed things out by striking out the final two hitters in the ninth.
