PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State baseball collected 24 hits in a 23-5 scrimmage win against visiting Central Washington University at Bailey-Brayton Field Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars, prepping for the 2018 season has added 16 newcomers to a club that went 24-29 last season including four straight series wins during Pac-12 Conference play, is playing the first of two fall scrimmages. Washington State jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning and added three more in the second inning. The bats stayed hot throughout the day and WSU erupted for eight runs in the sixth inning highlighted by an inside-the-park grand slam by and added five more in the seventh.
