PULLMAN, Wash. (April 12, 2024) – Washington State scored two runs and put the trying run on second base in the ninth inning but California held on for a 4-3 victory in the series-opener at Bailey-Brayton Field Friday evening.
The Cougars (17-15, 7-9 Pac-12) scored twice in the ninth and put runners on first and second with two outs before California ended the rally with a game-ending strikeout. WSU received two hits from who had missed the previous nine games while and each drove in runs in the ninth inning
